    FURCRAEA longaeva

    A rare yucca-like plant with pale bluish-green upright sword-like leaves. White flower spikes are produced on mature plants in summer and can reach 10-12 feet in height. Prefers full sun in a well drained location and protection from frost

      Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height
    • Succulent
      Perennial succulent with emergent stems to 5m (16ft) long bearing rosettes to 3m (10ft) across of stiff, lance-shaped, pointed leaves to 70cm (28in) long with many small marginal teeth. Pyramid-shaped panicles to 5m (16ft) long of drooping branches carry groups of 2-4 flowers 4cm (1½in) long. Numerous bulbils are also produced.
    • Tender - cool or frost free greenhouse
      Tolerant of low temperatures, but not surviving being frozen. Except in frost-free inner-city areas or coastal extremities requires glasshouse conditions. Plant can withstand temperatures down to 1°C (34°F)
      Under glass use standard cactus compost in full light with low humidity
