Genus of 10-15 species of evergreen trees and shrubs in the tea family with attractive, spirally arranged leaves and fragrant flowers.

  • Evergreen - oblong, lance-shaped, or oval, tapered leaves, shallowly toothed or scalloped, 7-24cm (3-10in) long, glossy dark-green with red veins.
  • White - from red-tinged buds.
