  • Deciduous - slightly pendulous, glossy, dark green leaves 10-15cm (4-6in) long.
  • Cream - greenish cream
  • Height - 6m (20ft)
  • Spread - 5m (16ft)
  • Tree - produces waxy, bell- to cup-shaped flowers with pronounced seamed shoulders.
  • Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
  • Full sun
  • Additional Features - Good to know - in the willow family. Introduced by EH Wilson in 1908. The name refers to the spindle shaped seed pods. Flowering and seed production can be sporadic.
