Commonly known as Père David's maple, Snakebark maple

  • Deciduous - oval, unlobed or shallowly lobed, mid-green leaves to 15cm (6in) long turn orange to yellow in autumn. Produces pink-brown fruit after racemes of pale yellow flowers.
  • Yellow - pale yellow

  • Spread - 10-12m (33-40ft)
  • Tree - or large shrub. Variable habit - sometimes multitrunked. Arching branches. Flowers followed by pink-brown, winged fruit
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
