Genus of 2 species and one natural hybrid of evergreen. coniferous trees restricted to mountainous areas of central and southern Tasmania, Australia, where they grow in rocky gullies, on expose ridges or around lakes.
The scented, durable wood was used before the species became too rare for cutting.
They thrive in areas with cool, humid summers.
