AGAPETES 'Ludgvan Cross'



Large pale pink flowers veined a deeper pink with a crimson calyx. Suitable for the cool greenhouse or a sheltered wall. Flowering times can be erratic

  • Good to know - A. incurvata x A. serpens. Grown for their pendent flowers. Mulch in spring every other year. If grown in a cool greenhouse use ericaceous potting compost in bright, filtered light.

  • Evergreen - lance-shaped mid- to dark green leaves to 5cm (2in) long.
  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - pendent shrub. Produces pendent clusters of up to 6 urn-shaped flowers 2-3cm (¾-1¼in) long.
  • Tender - cool or frost free greenhouse - Tolerant of low temperatures, but not surviving being frozen. Except in frost-free inner-city areas or coastal extremities requires glasshouse conditions. Plant can withstand temperatures down to 1°C (34°F)
  • Fertile moist well-drained soil - moderately fertile.
  • Neutral to acid soil - benefits from added composted bark.
  • Against a wall
  • Partial shade - will tolerate some sun if grown well.
