  • Evergreen - elliptic to broadly elliptic, leathery, coarsely toothed leaves to 25cm (10in) long, deep green above and light green beneath.
  • Height - 4m (14ft)
  • Spread - 4m (14ft)
  • Tall Shrub - stout, smooth green stems. Male flowers are green, yellow or purplish red; female are yellowish and are carried on shorter panicles. Fruits are cylindrical, to 2cm (¾in) long, and ripen to dark red in the following winter
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
