  • Height - 1.5m (5ft)
  • Spread - 60cm (24in)
  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - upright habit. Flowers have a purple blotch
  • Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)

  • Additional Features - Good to know - - makes a good subject for a patio pot. Use loam-based compost (JI No. 3). Proving hardier than first thought
  • Pests & Diseases - aphids, powdery mildew

    Suitable for: Deciduous shrubs and trees that flower in Spring or early Summer on previous year's growth, including plants that produce new growth at or near ground level.
    Pruning: Prune flowered shoots to strong buds. Cut back approximately 1/4 of old shoots to the base to promote replacement growth.
    When: Annually, after flowering.
