Evergreen, tough climber with fluffy pale pink-purple scented flowers
Evergreen - ovate-heart-shaped to oblong, lustrous, deep green leaves 4-5cm (1½-2in) long with pale veins
Shades of pink - All shades of pink through to Carmine (red) - pink-purple
Height - 6m (20ft)
Climber - Some of these climbing plants will need trellis or wire supports if grown on walls or fences. Other grow aerial roots and are self-clinging - root-clinging climber by adhesive discs on its stems. Vigorous, freely branching climber. Produces flower spikes to 4.5cm (1¾in) long, sometimes followed by purple berries.
Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
