  • Deciduous - broadly ovate, 3-lobed, double-toothed leaves to 8cm (3in) across
  • White - pink-white
  • Height - 1.2m (4ft)
  • Spread - 1.2m (4ft)
  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - compact shrub with arching branches. Produces small flowers in dense corymbs 5cm (2in) across followed by clusters of bladder-like, green-flushed red fruit 6mm (¼in) long, turning black.
  • Very hardy - Hardy in the severest continental climates including exposed upland locations in the UK. Plant can withstand temperatures < -20 (-4°F)

    Suitable for: Deciduous and evergreen trees, and some deciduous shrubs.
    Pruning: Minimal pruning required. Prune wayward or crossing branches to maintain a healthy framework.
    When: When dormant in the late winter/early spring. Some in the summer/autumn to prevent bleeding of sap.

  • Pruning group 2 - Suitable for: Deciduous shrubs and trees that flower in Spring or early Summer on previous year's growth, including plants that produce new growth at or near ground level.
    Pruning: Prune flowered shoots to strong buds. Cut back approximately 1/4 of old shoots to the base to promote replacement growth.
    When: Annually, after flowering.
