  • Evergreen - ovate to elliptic, toothed, mid-green leaves 2-3.5cm (¾-1½in) long
  • Purple - Shades of purple/mauve/lilac/violet - rich purple
  • Height - 75cm (30in)
  • Spread - 50cm (20in)
  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - bushy shrub
  • Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F) - in free-draining soil
  • Full sun
  • Additional Features - Good to know - - wildlife plant - insects. Remove faded spikes to prolong flowering.
  • Pests & Diseases - slugs, snails
  • Place of origin - garden origin. Germany
  • Resistant to honey fungus - These plants have little or few problems with honey fungus.

    Suitable for: Evergreen shrubs or climbers that need little to no pruning.
