  • Deciduous - ovate, wavy-margined leaves to 8cm (3in) long
  • Tree - green flowers in flower heads to 1cm (½in) across surrounded by white bracts 2.5-5cm (1-2in) long followed by fleshy fruits
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Fertile well drained soil - humus-rich
  • Neutral to acid soil
  • Full sun - shelter from strong winds
  • Partial shade
  • Broadly conical
