  • Evergreen - linear, mid-green leaves 12cm (4¾in) long
  • Height - to 15m (50ft)
  • Spread - 8m (26ft)
  • Bamboo - vigorous, open, clump-forming bamboo with widely spaced bright green canes to 6cm (2½in) across, turning yellow between the nodes. New canes have creamy white sheaths which persist for 2 or more years. Clustered branches, 1-1.4m (3-4½ft) long are produced from nearly every node
  • Half hardy - unheated greenhouse / mild winter - Hardy in coastal and relatively mild parts of the UK except in severe winters and a risk from sudden (early) frosts. May be hardy elsewhere with wall shelter or good micro-climate. Likely to be damaged or killed in cold winters. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -5°C (23°F)
