BUPLEURUM
Commonly known as Thorow wax
Genus of about 190 species of annuals, perennials and evergreen or semi-evergreen shrubs widely distributed throughout the northern hemisphere with some species in southern Africa.
A staple of traditional Chinese medicine for over 2000 years as a detoxifier.
It is represented in the UK by the very rare (outside cultivation) and possibly extinct, B. falcatum, Sickle hare's ear. a native perennial of waste places and hedgebanks.
