  • Evergreen - leaves 1-3cm (½-1¼in) long, scaly and glaucous above with dense brown scales beneath
  • Purple - Shades of purple/mauve/lilac/violet
  • Height - 75cm (30in)

  • Dwarf shrub - Typically only grows to a maximum of one or two feet in height but there will be some exceptions. - compact shrub. Produces numerous single or pairs of saucer-shaped flowers 2-4cm (¾-1½in) across, often with purple spots on the upper lobes
  • Hardy - very cold winter - Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
