  • Evergreen - oblong-ovate, dark green leaves 6-20cm (2½-8in) long, glaucous beneath.

  • Tall Shrub - or small tree with rough, fissured bark. Produces trusses of 7-10 funnel- to bell-shaped 6- or 7-lobed flowers 4.5-11cm (1¾-4½in) long, sometimes faintly tinged pink
  • Hardy - very cold winter - Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
