AJUGA reptans 'Black Scallop'

Commonly known as Bugle, Carpenter's herb



Attractive violet-blue flower spikes against dark black foliage. Prefers full sun for the best leaf colour

  • Height - 15cm (6in)
  • Spread - 60-90cm (24-36in)
  • Evergreen - ovate to spoon-shaped, scalloped leaves 9cm (3½in) long
  • Ground cover - These plants are typically low growing and spread quickly to inhibit weed growth on areas of bare soil - creeping, rhizomatous perennial spreading by stolons. Produces flowers in spike-like whorls to 15cm (6in) tall
  • Very hardy - Hardy in the severest continental climates including exposed upland locations in the UK. Plant can withstand temperatures < -20 (-4°F)
  • Tolerates all - any moist soil
  • Full shade
