Commonly known as Spindle tree

Long thick toothed leaves and large yellowish flowers. Pink seed capsules in the autumn

  • Deciduous - lance-shaped, tapered, blunt, shallowly toothed, leathery leaves to 10cm (4in) long
  • Yellow - yellowish flowers

  • Tall Shrub - strong-growing large shrub or small tree. Produces greenish white flowers in summer followed by pale pink 4-ribbed fruit with black seeds and orange arils

  • Hardy - very cold winter - Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
