Spreading habit and pink fruits with orange or red coated seeds. Yellow leaves in autumn

  • Deciduous - oblong-ovate to elliptical, scalloped leaves to 12cm (4½in) long turning yellow, pink or red in autumn
  • Height - 2.5-3m (8-10ft)
  • Spread - 2.5m (8ft)
  • Tall Shrub - produces almost spherical, 4-lobed pink fruit with red seeds
  • Hardy - very cold winter - Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
  • Full sun
  • Partial shade
  • Harmful if eaten - These will give you an upset tummy, so please don't eat any of these.
  • Additional Features - Berries - These plants have berries.
  • Good to know - variable species closely related to E. europaeus
