      Bushy, spiny shrub, eventually small tree. Produces panicles, 5cm (2in) long, of small, cup-shaped flowers from the leaf axils followed by fruits which split to reveal black seeds. Bark and fruit are also aromatic

      Suitable for: Deciduous and evergreen trees, and some deciduous shrubs.
      Pruning: Minimal pruning required. Prune wayward or crossing branches to maintain a healthy framework.
