  • Deciduous - triangular-lance-shaped to oblong leaves to 6cm (2½in) long
  • Yellow
  • Height - 1.2m (4ft)
  • Spread - 1m (39in)
  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - produces cymes of up to 11 star-shaped to shallowly cup-shaped flowers to 6cm (2½in) across.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Full sun

  • Additional Features - Good to know - - collected in Yunnan in 1980 by Roy Lancaster. Bracts around the buds are pink tinged, like little red stars
  • Pests & Diseases - generally trouble-free
  • Place of origin - China (northern Yunnan, southern Sichuan)
  • Resistant to honey fungus - These plants have little or few problems with honey fungus.
  • Hardiness - Fully hardy -
  • Pruning group - Pruning group 4
    Suitable for: Deciduous trees and shrubs that flower on current year's growth or are grown for winter stem effect.
    Pruning: Hard prune to a low permanent framework.
    When: Annually in early Spring.
