  • Deciduous - obovate, shallowly lobed to wavy-margined dark green leaves to 30cm (12in) or more long

  • Tree - very slow-growing, stoutly-branched tree. Bark becomes fissured, splitting into scaly grey plates. Ovoid to almost spherical acorns
