YUCCA rostrata 'Sapphire Skies'

Forms a large rosette of narrow, grey-blue leaves. Bell-shaped creamy-white flowers borne in panicles on tall stems

 

  • Evergreen - near-spherical rosette of over 100, minutely toothed, spine-tipped leaves to 60cm (24in) long
  • Height - 5m (16ft)
  • Spread - 2m (6½ft)
  • Tall Shrub - slow-growing, tree-like shrub, usually single-trunked and unbranched. Trunk is covered with the soft, grey fibrous remains of old leaf bases. Produces flowers within or just above the leaf rosette
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Full sun - requires a hot site

  • Good to know - can range in height from 2-5m (6½-16ft). Makes an eyecatching subject for a large container
