CORYDALIS
Genus of about 400 species of fibrous- or fleshy-rooted annuals and biennials, and tuberous or rhizomatous perennials. Most are herbaceous, a few evergreen. They occur in a variety of habitats, with many from woodland or rocky, mountain sites mostly in northern temperate regions.
Some are sun loving, some prefer shade and some require a period of dry summer dormancy.
