Commonly known as Ash-leaved maple, Box elder, Water ash


 
  • Deciduous - pinnate leaves 20cm (8in) or more long with 3-7 (sometimes 9) ovate leaflets to 10cm (4in) long.
  • Height - 15m (50ft)
  • Spread - 12m (40ft)
  • Tree - or large shrub. Produces greenish yellow flowers in pendent racemes, male and females on separate plants.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
