Small, tubular, pendent scarlet flowers. Arching stems with very fine leaves

    Elliptic, scale-like, mid-green leaves 1cm (½in) long which fall early

  • Medium shrub
    Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height
    Branching subshrub with rush-like, erect and pendent mid-green stems. Produces flowers to 3cm (1¼in) long in pendent cymes
  • Heated greenhouse - subtropical
    Can be grown outside in summer. Plant can withstand temperatures down to 10°C (50°F).
    Use loam-based compost (JI No.2) in full or bright, filtered light
  • Full sun
    If growing outdoors requires a warm, sheltered site
