      Sturdy, usually low-spreading tree, open-crowned with several heavy boughs. Glossy, brown young twigs are covered in dense, woolly hair. Mature bark is brown to grey-green and flakes to show yellow-orange patches

      Suitable for: Deciduous and evergreen trees, and some deciduous shrubs.
      Pruning: Minimal pruning required. Prune wayward or crossing branches to maintain a healthy framework.
