Produces a succession of 5-petalled, hibiscus-like, cup- to trumpet-shaped flowers 4-6cm (1½-2½in) across from the upper leaf axils, mainly in summer, followed by ovoid seed capsules 2.5cm (1in) long if more than one plant is present
