CAMELLIA 'Rubescens Major'
Japonica. Crimson flowers with darker veining
Evergreen - distinctive broad, rounded leaves.
Red - crimson red
Height - to 9m (30ft)
Spread - to 8m (26ft)
Tall Shrub - dense upright growth. Produces large flowers 10-13cm (4-5in) across. Flowers have a characteristic boss of unopened petals in the centre which remain until the flower is almost fully blown.
Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
