    CALLICARPA

    Commonly known as Beauty berry, French mulberry

    Attractive bushes of violet or white beads, particularly when planted in groups. One of the last shrubs visited by birds after berries.

    The most common species was collected in China by Émile-Marie Bodinier, a French missionary and botanist of the 19th century.

    Genus of about 140 species of evergreen and deciduous shrubs and trees from woodland in mainly tropical and subtropical regions.
