DICKSONIA

Commonly known as Tree fern

Additional carriage and packing will be payable when shipping larger trunks

Genus of about 20 species of evergreen or semi-evergreen ferns usually with upright, trunk-like rhizomes. They are found in sheltered, upland forest in temperate and tropical regions of southeastern Asia, Australasia and South America.

The tree fern trunks were used as ballast in ships returning from southern regions. After being discarded in southwestern ports some produced new fronds and the passion for collections began. Most large gardens, especially in the south west, have stands of these iconic plants.
