ALECTRYON
A genus of about 30 species of trees and shrubs fron a wide variety of habitats in Australasia and southeastern Asia.
The global centre is the forests of eastern Queensland and New South Wales with 12 species endemic to Australia.
The black seeds are surrounded by a red, fleshy aril which makes them attractive to birds.
