Keystone species in many tropical forests.
Common fig, F. carica, is the iconic fruit which has figured prominently in many cultures.
Genus of about 800 species of mainly evergreen trees, shrubs and woody climbers, usually found in moist forests in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide.
