  • Evergreen - to semi evergreen. Oval, rich-green leaves to 6cm (2½in) long.
  • White
  • Height - 4m (13ft)
  • Spread - 4m (13ft)
  • Hedge - Ideal for hedging
  • Tall Shrub - vigorous, upright shrub. Flowers in dense panicles to 10cm (4in) long followed by spherical, shiny black fruit.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Full sun
  • Partial shade
  • Harmful if eaten - These will give you an upset tummy, so please don't eat any of these.
  • Additional Features - Good to know - - the privet most usually seen, but from Japan. Useful for hedging. More reliably evergreen than our native but offers little to wildlife.
