  • Evergreen - linear, glossy or matt, dark-green leaves 2-3cm (¾-1¼in) long are 2-ranked and parted either side of the shoots.
  • Height - 10-20m (33-66ft)
  • Spread - 8-10m (26-33ft)
  • Conifer - the highly modified seed cone consists of a single green seed surrrounded by a juicy, sweet, usually red, aril 1cm (½in) across.
  • Hedge - Ideal for hedging
  • Tree - spreading, horizontal branches with shoots that remain green for many years and scaly, purple-brown bark.
  • Hardy - very cold winter - Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
