    FRAGARIA

    Commonly known as Strawberry

    The wild strawberry, usually of the Alpine type with larger fruit but still tiny when compared with commercial varieties.

    Genus of 12 species of stoloniferous perennials from open woodland and grassy places in Europe, Asia (as far as southern India), North America and temperate areas of Chile.

    The UK native wild, or wood, strawberry is found in dry grassland and woods usually on limy soil.
