LILY OF THE VALLEY

Genus of 3 species, sometimes considered to be one variable species, of rhizomatous perennials found in light woodland, scrub or alpine meadows in northern temperate regions.

A native of rare, scattered distribution in England and Wales, very rare in Scotland and not found in Ireland.

An ancient-woodland indicator.
