    Good to know
    Best species for edible fruit. Pleasant, slightly acidic flavour. Imported into Britain in the 17th. century as the wrong plant for the raising of silkworms.

    Canker, coral spot, bacterial blight, powdery mildew.
    Place of origin
    Uncertain, probably southwestern Asia.
    Resistant to honey fungus
    These plants have little or few problems with honey fungus.
