    Pot Sizes

There are many different plant pot sizes available in the horticulture industry. Here at Burncoose we pride ourselves in the sale of established plants. This means that when you order with us, your chosen plant could come with a range of different options of size to chose from. We know that this can sometimes seem overwhelming, we therefore hope that this information can help you make an informed choice on which plant to buy.

Our plants are advertised in the pot size they’re grown in (measured in Litres). We do this as the root ball is the best way to measure the age of the plant. With every plant we provide a photograph with an estimated idea on height. However, if you need more information on this you can call our friendly office team who will assist in finding you more details.

Please note that all images provided are for illustrative purposes only and the actual condition of individual plants will vary depending on the time of year, the weather and growing conditions at the time.

Now a look into what plants will be grown in individual sized pots:

    9CM:
We provide very few plants in a 9cm plants, however there are a few exceptions: herbs, heathers and lampranthus.

    1.5L – 2L:
Almost all our herbaceous plants will be supplied in these sizes.
A 1.5L – 2L plant pot is great size to start planting straight into your garden.
A great size pot that will establish very quickly once planted in the ground.

    2L – 3L:
Our shrubs, climbers and small tress can be found in these size pots.
As above, they will make great additions to a garden almost instantly.

    4L – 5L:
You may at times find we have potted up some of our more unusual plants into these sizes.
Some plants need more looking after when it comes to potting up and these sizes allow us to care for them in this way.

    7.5L – 10L – 15L:
Our trees and semi mature shrubs will usually be found in these size pots.
These sizes allow you to have a bigger impact in your garden planting.

We do not sell tiny plugs or small liner plants.

If we find that the plant you have purchased is in a smaller pot / smaller in size when we come to pick and pack it, then we will always reduce the price and check that you still want to go ahead before sending.
