CAESALPINIA

Commonly known as Nicker-bean

The common name, nicker bean is the fruit of C. bonduc which has established itself on tropical and subtropical beaches. It often gets washed out to sea, hence another name, sea pearl.

Genus of 70 or more deciduous and evergreen species of trees, scandent to climbing shrubs, and perennials from scrub, lowland rainforest and rocky mountain slopes in the tropics and subtropics.
