PROPOGATION TECHNIQUES– FRIDAY 6TH MAY 2011
Lecture by Charles Williams and Louisa Lazarowicz
Charles is a regular lecturer at horticultural events in the UK and Louisa is the Chief Propagator for Burncoose Nurseries
In this lecture you will be shown the simple steps necessary to produce hardy ornamental plants from cuttings and seeds as well as more advanced nursery techniques and the methods for hybridising new forms of camellias, magnolias and rhododendrons. Attendees will view the private propogation areas in the nursery, get a preview of the Burncoose Chelsea Exhibit and visit the private show tunnel.
Areas of Special interest will include:-
1. Propagating magnolias from seed
2. Propagating camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons from cuttings and seed
3. Grafting, layering and tissue culture
Lecture starts at 2.00pm
Coffee/Tea will be served from 1.30 pm onwards. RHS Members - £12.00, Non-members - £14.50
