Genus of about 7 species of evergreen shrubs from canyons and rocky slopes in southwestern USA and Mexico.

Good to knowWildlife plant - bees. Named in honour of Jacques Denis Choisy (1799-1859), Swiss botanist. Member of the same family as citrus and skimmia with aromatic oil glands in the leaves. Does well against a wall.
