6th January 2021. In line with the current government lockdown rules, Burncoose Nurseries is closed to visitors. However at present we are able to offer click and collect to local customers. This will be weekdays only, not weekends.

DIERAMA
Commonly known as Angel's fishing rod, Wandflower

Plants which must have been designed to dangle over a path or pool.
Once established resist the urge to move them as they are unlikely to survive.
Genus of 44 species of evergreen, cormous perennials usually found in mountainous grassland areas of Ethiopia, eastern and southern tropical Africa and South Africa.

Bulb/Corm or rhizomatous perennial - cormous perennials. Erect, or semi-erect, thin, grass-like, mid- to grey green leaves to 90cm (3ft) long. Overtopped in summer by pendent, funnel- or bell-shaped flowers on arching stems.

Soil Conditions - Tolerates all - - humus-rich and well drained. Once established will tolerate poor dry conditions - rockery or even gravel drives!
