Commonly known as Buddleia, Butterfly bush, Summer lilac

Our choice as the most attractive and unusual variety of buddleja. Large panicles of dark red flowers at the ends of each stem in early summer

  • Deciduous - to semi evergreen. Lance-shaped, dark-green leaves to 12cm (5in) or more.
  • Red - dark red
  • Height - 6m (20ft)
  • Spread - 6m (20ft)
  • Tall Shrub - upright, stoutly-branched shrub or small tree. Flowers are in tight clusters to 20cm (8in) long.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
