Our choice as the most attractive and unusual variety of buddleja. Large panicles of dark red flowers at the ends of each stem in early summer

  • Deciduous - to semi evergreen. Lance-shaped, dark-green leaves to 12cm (5in) or more.
  • Shades of pink - All shades of pink through to Carmine (red) - dark pink to red
  • Height - 6m (20ft)
  • Spread - 6m (20ft)
  • Tall Shrub - upright, stoutly-branched shrub or small tree
  • Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F) - borderline
  • Against a wall
  • Full sun - protect from cold winter winds
