Genus of about 25 species of mainly vigorous woody, deciduous climbers which are good for covering structures but should be prevented from growing around roofs and eaves.

Flowers are insignificant but some species have ornamental berries.

    Leaves to 60cm (24in) long, composed of 7-9 ovate to ovate-oblong, dark green leaflets, glaucous on the reverse. Autumn colours of red, pink and orange before falling
