    Vigorous tree with spirally furrowed bark when mature. Produces small flowers in showy catkins from the leaf axils of young shoots. Edible fruit in autumn after a good summer from mature trees of 25 years of age with others for pollination.

    Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
