Commonly known as Climbing bittersweet, Staff vine

Genus of about 30 species of deciduous, rarely evergreen, shrubs and twining climbers. They occur mainly in thickets and woodland in warm-temperate or sub-tropical regions.

Oriental bittersweet C. orbiculatus hybridises readily with American bittersweet C. scandens and has become an invasive species in eastern North America.
