Genus of about 10 species of slender-stemmed, rhizamatous, perennial grasses from tropical and warm-temperate open grassland in Japan.
Ornamental grasses - flat, linear, pointed leaves with spikes of short, silvery seedheads.
Full sun - mulch in winter.
Partial shade - dappled shade.
