6th January 2021. In line with the current government lockdown rules, Burncoose Nurseries is closed to visitors. However at present we are able to offer click and collect to local customers. This will be weekdays only, not weekends. Mail order is continuing as normal. However please allow extra time for the couriers to deliver, once despatched from us. Sorry to say that some depots are experiencing high volumes of traffic, also staff shortages.

JACARANDA

Commonly known as Fern tree

The Blue jacaranda, J. mimosifolia is a spectacular tree when in flower and has been introduced to almost all tropical and subtropical countries and are popular as street trees.

Genus of about 50 species of deciduous and evergreen trees from wet rainforests of tropical America.

  • Deciduous - and semi- evergreen trees.
  • Will grow outside in milder locations - This could include plants which would survive happily in a greenhouse or conservatory if not in a mild location. If you have a sheltered spot in your garden then it may do well here. - if growing in greenhouse use loam based compost Allow full light and plenty of air.

  • Additional Features - Good to know - - elegant, fern-like leaves and foxglove-like flowers. Some flowers may form on container-grown plants at about 2m (6ft) tall.
