Commonly known as Fern tree
The Blue jacaranda, J. mimosifolia is a spectacular tree when in flower and has been introduced to almost all tropical and subtropical countries and are popular as street trees.
Genus of about 50 species of deciduous and evergreen trees from wet rainforests of tropical America.
Deciduous - and semi- evergreen trees.
Will grow outside in milder locations - This could include plants which would survive happily in a greenhouse or conservatory if not in a mild location. If you have a sheltered spot in your garden then it may do well here. - if growing in greenhouse use loam based compost Allow full light and plenty of air.
Additional Features - Good to know - - elegant, fern-like leaves and foxglove-like flowers. Some flowers may form on container-grown plants at about 2m (6ft) tall.
Pests & Diseases - red spider mite and whitefly in greenhouse.
Place of origin - tropical America.
